Rachel Becker is a science reporter with a background in biomedical research. After studying the links between the brain and the immune system at Stanford (BA, Human Biology) and Harvard (MA, Immunology), Rachel left the lab bench to become a journalist at the MIT Graduate Program in Science Writing. Since then, her bylines have appeared in NOVA Next, National Geographic News, Smithsonian, Slate, Nature, Nature Medicine, bioGraphic, and Hakai Magazine. Rachel also has written videos for the PBS Digital Studios web series Gross Science as well as the YouTube show MinuteEarth, where she wrote the channel's most popular video about animals eating their babies. Now, as a staff science reporter for The Verge, Rachel writes stories and hosts videos about health, energy, the environment, nukes, and poisons.
